  • What is the capacity of Queens Cocktail Bar and Event Space?
    We are licenced for 50 patrons, therefore only 50 guests in the venue at any one time is allowed.
  • What time can I access the space for my event?
    For all general hens partys, you have one hour prior to come in and add in final touches before your event starts. If there is no booking prior to yours you are welcome to come in earlier to decorate. Just contact Nicole to discuss.
  • Can I bring in my own food and drinks?
    No. All food and drinks must be purchased from Queens via one of our packages. The only food we allow in is a wedding cake or birthday cake. There is PLENTY of food so no one misses out. We do have high tea cake options to add on if you are wanting desserts also.
  • Can I decorate the space?
    Yes you can. If you have balloons or archers or streamers your welcome to bring them in. We dont allow confetti at all including rice, rose petals or paper confetti, and no nailing items to the wall or ceiling. We have double sided tape you can use also.
  • What is the latest time my event can go to?
    We are licenced till 10pm.
  • Can we use the space for weddings?
    Yes but we have specific wedding packages. Our advertised packages are not suitable for weddings and they cannot be booked for weddings. Weddings require the venue to be closed all day for supplier access. We have premium food packages and place on more staff. We also have ceremony and reception packages on request.
  • Can I bring my own cake?
    Of course you can!! What's a party without cake?? Your cake can be pre-delivered to us also (make sure its clearly labelled with your name). We charge a once only $25 cake cutting fee. If you leave your cake at the venue post event we aren't responsible for it being thrown out after the event or us eating it. We suggest you bring in cupcakes instead.
  • Can guests purchase additional drinks
    Yes they can, we have a full cocktail bar menu. Our hens party menus are set menus, though if guests are wanting to try something a little more signature we do have a premium cocktail menu guests can purchase from on the day.
  • Do I have to pay a deposit? And when is final amount due?
    Yes. A minimum $350 non-refundable deposit is payable to secure your event date. Its non-refundable because if you cancel your event we ultimately lose out. By cancelling your event we could have booked the venue with another client. There are no exceptions to the non-refundable clause. Final amount is due 14 days prior to the event at the same time of final numbers being confirmed. We will get in touch with you at the 14 day mark at which you will confirm how many guests are attending and we will re-issue the invoice.
  • What if some of my guests aren't drinking cocktails, do they still have to pay?"
    Yes. The price does not change for non-drinkers it is the same price. They will be able to consume non-alcoholic wines and also mocktails for the same price. It becomes too hard to trace mocktailers and cocktailers at events so we keep it all the one price point, and because we are a small venue our capacity is based on attendance, so everyone needs to be paying the same price.
  • Can I have a DJ or live music? And do you have a dance floor?
    We allow acoustic duos only, no bands or DJs are permitted. You may play your own music via our inhouse background music system which is set to a set level. We also don't have a set dance floor but we do have space to dance!
  • Can I bring in my own additional entertainment?
    No. If you are having a hens party all entertainment options are available via one of our packages. No external entertainment is allowed to enter Queens. If there is something not listed on the website just ask, we have plenty of additional services we work with to create unique hens party packages.
  • Can I choose my finger food?
    Yes. We have set menus that you can choose for some packages, and then pick and mix menu packages for our larger events. We provide a large array of options that include vegetarian, meat, vegan, gluten free options on the day of your event. You can be assured that we provide quality and quantity of finger food in the form of grazing boards for your event. Our finger food options change based on local produce demand, seasons change and pricing and therefore our menu is constantly changing.
  • Can I bring kids to the event?
    We are strictly an over 18 venue and don't advise at bringing children. However we understand that some guests may have babies etc. We don't have baby changing facilities. Note that if you are bringing in young children they must be 100% supervised at all times and no children are permitted to play on the stairs in the venue. Children over the age of 10 are counted in the head count and must pay full price. A child surcharge applies for each child under the age of 10. Contact Nicole to discuss.
